The Cornish Rivera is famous for the number and variety of its coves and beach's. Whether you prefer the isolated inlet with towering cliffs hidden in woodland or the busy, all amenity beach with cafe, carpark and pub there is something for everyone. The following list is by no means exaustive........

Lantic Bay - 3miles
Lovely off the beaten track beach. Access by steep footpath only.  Guests often take the Poluan ferry and the cliff footpath to reach this beach or combine it with a visit to Lanteglos Church and the Hall walk.
Readymoney - 1.5miles
Small popular golden sandy cove at the mouth of the riverFowey. Access available by road and foot but no parking.  Toilets, ice cream,  swimming pontoon and St Catherine's Castle to explore.
Coombe - 1.5miles
Small isolated golden sand often very private. 
Polridmouth - 1.5miles
Inspiration for Du Maurier's book Rebecca. One of Cornwalls best kept secrets. Choice of two separate sand and pebble beaches, access by foot only.
Idyllic countryside backdrop with private beach cottage and lake topped with lilly's, swans and sea going ducks that both waddle and surf.  Also the nearby 18th Century Gribben tower to explore.

Platt - 2miles
Isolated sandy beach on the point of Gribbin Head tucked away under the Gribbin day light marker,  very private as not overlooked and well off the beaten track.

Polkerris -  1mile

Small golden sandy harbour. Access by road or foot. Very popular during the day, lovely sunset in the evening.  Watersports hire and training center, good food local public house and a recommended restaurant  right on the beach. 
Par Sands - 1.5miles
Large golden family beach. Long gentle slope. Access by road with plenty of  parking space, amenities, nearby family pub and cafe. Also thriving wildlife lake. 

Charlestown - 4miles
Historic port with lovely pebble beach.  Backed by towering cliffs and caves.  Hosts to the tall sailing ships and shipwreck heritage center. Local shops, restaurants and choice of two public houses. 
Porthpean - 6miles
Large sandy beach. Access by road but limited public parking. Backed by large all amenities caravan park with nearby local shops and pub. 
Black Head - 7miles
Secluded golden sands. Access by foot only. Naturist beach. 
Newquay - 25miles

For the thrill seekers and crowd lovers the Atlantic breakers of the north coast and the surfer's paradise, Newquay is a just short hop across the county away assessable by train from Par in the summer.
